WebJan 31, 2024 · DSM 7.0 big perfomance problems with AFP enabled. I Can't figure out why synology is acting slow when AFP protocol is enabled. I have Synology on 4x agragated link connected to the switch. Connecting over the MAC Pro Late-2016. Problem is I have old mac that does not support SMB. I need it to be enabled for an old MAC, its for a drum scanner. WebSamba has had poor performance for 20+ years, sorry. My old windows servers performance is leaps and bounds better than samba on any hardware, let alone a platform with limited cpu like a synology. I mounted this my my Mac using the basic "Connect to Server" option in Finder and typing in "afp://server:share" and "smb://server:share" for the tests.
